Sheriff’s Office responded to more than 500 calls last month

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office responded to more than 500 calls for service last month, according to the department’s activity report.

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office made 48 arrests in the month of September, performed 65 traffic stops and worked 21 total traffic accidents.

Deputies responded to 9 domestic calls and answered 9 alarm calls as well as 9 animal complaints.

The sheriff’s office responded to 44 requests for a deputy, 3 shots fired complaints, and 13 suspicious person complaints.

Deputies served 124 court papers last month and performed 23 welfare checks.

The sheriff’s office also issued 15 concealed carry permits.
