Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary August 2025 unemployment rate was 4.7%, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics (KYSTATS), an agency within the Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet.
The preliminary August 2025 jobless rate was down 0.2 percentage points from July 2025 and down 0.5 percentage points from one year ago.
The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for August 2025 was 4.3%, which was up from the 4.2% reported for July 2025, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
County unemployment numbers are expected to be released this week by the Kentucky Center for Statistics.
