The Jamestown City Council met last night, approving a resolution to apply for a grant that would help fund a project to transition from using chlorine at the city’s water plant to bleach.
Jamestown Mayor Regena Hinton said safety is the main reason the city is looking to switch, but Hinton said changing to bleach could also be a little more cost-efficient over time.
The city also approved the purchase of a camera that would be used by the public works department for use in the city’s sewer lines. Mayor Hinton shared more details with WJRS News.
The Jamestown City Council meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at city hall. Meetings are open to the public.
