Traffic to be diverted at Russell-Clinton County line as part of 127 project

A temporary traffic diversion goes into effect today on U.S. 127 around the Russell County – Clinton County line.

The District 8 transportation office says both north and southbound traffic on Highway 127 will be diverted onto temporary driving lanes near the Russell/Clinton County line at mile point 20. The diversion is required to accommodate ongoing progress on the U.S. 127 realignment project.

The temporary traffic diversion is expected to last about three weeks, but that could change due to weather conditions.

Drivers are reminded to exercise caution when traveling through the work zone.
