According to a recently-released report from the Kentucky Center for Statistics, Russell County High School graduates outpaced many graduates from across the state when it comes to postsecondary readiness.
The new high school feedback report released earlier this month collected data from the graduating class of 2023. The report states more than 71 percent of graduates from Russell County High School’s Class of 2023 earned college credit hours before graduating high school. That was higher than the statewide number for 2023 graduates, which came in at 57.3 percent.
Over 54 percent of Russell County High School’s graduates earned an industry certificate. That more than doubled the statewide rate, which came in at just under 26 percent.
Nearly 85 percent of Russell County graduates in 2023 were defined as academic and/or career ready by the Kentucky Department of Education. Statewide, that number was just under 81 percent.
