Lindsey Wilson College officially becomes Lindsey Wilson University

Lindsey Wilson College in neighboring Adair County is now Lindsey Wilson University.

The name change, which was approved back in April, becomes official today.

Back in April, the faculty voted by a 77-2 margin to approve the change to Lindsey Wilson University, and the move had support from the alumni association, the student government association and the board of trustees.

Lindsey Wilson was founded as a training school, later becoming a junior college in 1923 and transformed into a college granting bachelor’s degrees in 1985 and offered its first graduate program in 1993.
