The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is warning of a scam text message circulating around the state.
The text message warns of a false outstanding traffic ticket. The message says that if the recipient doesn’t click on a link and submit a payment, they will be prosecuted and their driving privileges will be suspended.
The transportation cabinet reminds residents they do not collect traffic violation fees and anyone who receives these messages should not click on any link within the message.
Scams can be reported to the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office.
