Sheriff’s Office responded to more than 500 calls last month

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office reported 526 calls for service last month. 

The sheriff’s office made 43 arrests, responded to 9 domestic calls, and performed 59 traffic stops during the month of May. 

Sheriff’s deputies responded to 25 traffic accidents including 5 with injuries. Deputies also answered 9 alarm calls, responded to 11 animal complaints, and 25 welfare checks, among various other calls. 

The sheriff’s office performed 11 mental health transports, served more than 100 court papers, and inspected more than 500 vehicles.
