School board approves extra teacher for English Language Learner program

The Russell County Board of Education approved the addition of another teacher for the school district’s English Language Learner program at this week’s board meeting.

The new teacher will serve as a specialist for students who are learning English as a second language.

Superintendent Michael Ford said the extra teacher is needed to support the growing program.

Ford provided WJRS News more details about the number of students in the program.

The board approved the addition of another teacher by a unanimous vote.
