Local gas prices remain lower than most neighboring counties, state average

Local gas prices remain lower than many neighboring counties.

According to AAA, the average price of gas in Russell County comes in at around $2.79 per gallon.

Of the neighboring counties, only Adair County is lower with a difference of about 8 cents. Prices in Casey County are on par with Russell County.

Other counties have higher average prices, with the difference being 5 cents or less in Clinton and Cumberland counties. Prices are about 10 cents higher in Pulaski and Wayne counties.

Prices in Russell County are slightly lower than state average, which comes in at $2.82.
