Cathy Crew Epperson retained her seat on the South Kentucky RECC Board of Directors in a closely-contested election.
Epperson received 2,532 votes from South Kentucky RECC members, while her challenger, Rick Barker, received 2,333 votes, a difference of 199 votes.
Epperson currently serves as the chairperson of the board, and will begin her new four-year term next month.
Voting was held on South Kentucky RECC’s SmartHub app from May 23 – June 6 and during the cooperative’s annual membership days held last week.
As a member-owned, not-for-profit electric cooperative, South Kentucky RECC is governed by a seven-member board elected by RECC members.
