Russell County sees increase in number of people living and working in same county

Russell County saw an increase in the number of people who live and work in the county.

The latest report uses data from 2022. That data shows Russell County saw a roughly 6.2 percent increase in the number of people who both live and work in the county compared to 2021.

In 2022, the data shows 3,101 Russell Countians who both live and work in the county. That’s up from 2,920 the year prior.

In total, Russell County has a little over 1,100 more worker commuting out than in.

Wayne County has one of the largest differences in the area with more than 2,000 workers commuting out than coming in. In Adair County, nearly 2,000 more workers commute out than in. That difference is about 1,600 in Casey County.

Only 40 more workers commuted out than in for Clinton County. Cumberland County has around 150 more workers commuting in than out.

Pulaski County has nearly 500 more workers commuting in than out.
