A Somerset man was arrested after reportedly stabbing another man during an altercation in a gas station parking lot.
Somerset Police say the incident occurred Wednesday. Joshua Daniel Caldwell, age 36, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault.
Police say Caldwell claimed a man entered the gas station he was working at and claimed Caldwell was talking bad about him. An altercation ensued, with Caldwell claiming the man threw something at him inside the store.
The verbal altercation continued outside. Caldwell claimed the man tried to punch him, and in return, he stabbed the man.
The man, who was unnamed in the report, was taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital by private vehicle. He was later transported to the University of Kentucky for treatment of two stab wounds.
Caldwell was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
