Much of yesterday’s school board meeting centered on discussions about a possible canopy project between Russell County Middle School and the ANC.
Discussions have been ongoing about a covered walkway between the middle school and the ANC. However, it would likely be temporary, as the school district looks ahead to beginning construction of a new middle school in a few years.
The board voted to move forward and advertise to receive bids for the project. The board voted to advertise for bids for a concrete walkway with a covered canopy as an add-on.
Superintendent Michael Ford told WJRS News price estimates right now are simply estimates. He also said no actions by the board last night commit the board to the project.
The board voted 4-0 to move forward with the project. Board member Gerald Murray chose not to vote.
