The Russell County Lady Laker Basketball team fell to the top-seed Metcalfe County Lady Hornets in the district tournament last night by a score of 56-36.
With the loss, the Lady Lakers finish their season with a final record of 12-17.
Addy Abrell and Natalie Bartrug each finished with 8 points to lead Russell County in scoring, followed by Aniyah Coffey with 7 points.
Metcalfe County and Cumberland County will face off Thursday night for the Girls 16th District Championship.
District tournament action continues tonight, as the 3-seed Lakers will take on the 2-seed Cumberland County in the second game tonight.
