Bicentennial Committee planning multiple events this year

2025 is Russell County’s Bicentennial, and several events are planned to celebrate Russell County’s 200th birthday.

While the committee has plans for new events, such as the upcoming event at the ANC which will serve as a kickoff event featuring Russell County Schools and county history, Susan Melton with the Russell County Judge Executive’s Office said the committee also wants to build on well-established annual events in the community.

The first bicentennial event will take place on January 18th at the Russell County ANC from 2-4 p.m.
