Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell is working with Russell County Hospital and other hospitals across the state on a program called “Food is Medicine.”
Shell said the program aims to help people live healthier lifestyles, and that includes providing fresh food to those leaving the hospital.
Shell recently held a meeting with local hospital and agriculture leaders at the public library to begin work on the program.
