Russell Springs selected in medical cannabis dispensary lottery

Russell Springs will receive one of four medical cannabis dispensary licenses for the Cumberland Region.

JM Medical LLC filed an application for Russell Springs and received one of four licenses in the region during yesterday’s lottery drawing.

Few details are known about the company. A search of online business records reveal the company filed as a business in Kentucky in August but has a principal office in Overland Park, Kansas. The filing lists an individual named Jared Akers as the organizer of the LLC.

The Cumberland Region includes Russell and the surrounding counties, minus Adair, along with Lincoln, Laurel, Knox, Bell, Harlan, Whitley, McCreary and Rockcastle counties.
