The Russell Springs City Council voted to move forward with a plan for the city to purchase a new dump truck for the Public Works Department at a recent meeting.
Mayor Eddie Thomas said it’s something the city has been looking into for a while.
The 2016 Peterbilt truck comes with a price tag just under $59,000. The city had budgeted $60,000 for the purchase of a new truck.
Due to the price of the truck and the state’s procurement law for cities, the city will advertise for a week before moving forward.
