The Russell County Middle School Laker Basketball teams are continuing their winning ways.
The Lakers picked up victories over Hart County and Clinton County this week.
The 6th grade Lakers defeated Hart County 36-8 and Clinton County 33-12. Asher Bennett led the 6th grade in those games with a combined 29 points and Liam Overby scored a combined 15 points.
The 7th grade Lakers defeated Hart County 51-27 with Colton Whitaker scoring 11 and Raylan McAninch scoring 10. The 7th grade defeated Clinton County 49-24 with Gavin Campbell scoring 19 and Clay Antle adding 8 points.
8th grade defeated Hart County 53-29 with Myles Davis scoring 16 points and Kholton Robertson adding 10. The Lakers also won a close one over Clinton County by a score of 44-41. Myles Davis scored 21 and Will Coffey added 16.
The 7th grade team is currently undefeated at 8-0, while the 6th and 8th grade teams have just one loss at 7-1 on the season.
