The Russell County Fiscal Court is expected to take up the issue of hazardous duty retirement at its special-called meeting this morning.
The court heard a presentation from Sheriff Derek Polston on the topic last month, and county officials have spent the past couple weeks examining possible solutions.
The fiscal court will meet at 10 a.m. today in the courtroom at the Russell County Courthouse.
This meeting is special-called, as it will replace the regular meeting which would have taken place next Monday. That is Veterans Day, so the meeting was moved up one week.
