A 9-year-old child was transported to Russell County Hospital over the weekend after he was hit by a car while riding his scooter in the road.
Russell Springs Police say a 9-year-old child was riding a scooter across Gentry Mill Road near the intersection with Old Columbia Road at around 2:45 Saturday afternoon when he was struck by a vehicle operated by Rita Coffey of Russell Springs.
The child received scrapes and bruises, according to police, and was transported to the hospital by Russell County EMS for further evaluation.
