The Russell County Laker Band competed in regional competition at Madison Southern Saturday, coming away with a second-place finish.
The Laker Band finished just behind Bourbon County in the Class AAA East Regional and will now advance to state semifinals, which will take place this coming Saturday at Elizabethtown High School.
If Russell County advances out of the semifinals, they’ll compete in the state finals in Louisville Saturday night.
