The Kentucky Department of Education released the assessment results from last school year, and overall, Russell County fared well.
The state classifies schools into five color-based categories based on the scores from last year combined with the change from the year prior.
Based on the color categories, blue is the highest rating, followed by green, yellow, orange, and red.
Russell Springs Elementary had the highest rating of all the schools in Russell County, with a blue rating.
Russell County High School and Jamestown Elementary received green ratings, and Russell County Middle School and Salem Elementary received yellow ratings.
