The budget for Russell County Schools for this school year will be at an all time high…more than $28 million.
District Treasurer Marla Carnes, in presenting the budget to the board, noted that although expenses have increased, such as utilities and a four percent (4%) pay raise for all school district employee, she felt good about this year’s budget. Carnes also said she felt the district was “poised to be in good position” to give additional raises for employees next year.
The school board unanimously approved the budget earlier this week.
