The apprenticeship program through Russell County Schools is continuing to grow.
The school district’s career support specialist, Mick Slone, recently addressed the Russell County Board of Education about the program and its growth. WJRS News caught up with Slone to talk about the career fields students are interested in and the increase in student participation.
The apprenticeship program helps provide students with real-life experience to guide them on career choices. For some, it provides them with valuable experience in the career they want to pursue. For others, Slone said it can save a lot of time and money by helping students learn they may not like a particular career path.
Stay tuned to WJRS News tomorrow as we bring you more from our conversation with Slone about the apprentice program.
