A Monticello man was taken into custody after being accused of shooting his mother and grandmother over the weekend.
According to Kentucky State Police, 25-year-old Chase A. Jackson of Monticello is charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of assault first degree.
State Police say they were called by Monticello Police just before 11 p.m. local time Saturday to assist with a shooting investigation that took place on Winchester Road.
Jackson reportedly was involved in a verbal altercation with his mother, identified as 50-year-old Audrey J. Jackson and his 94-year-old grandmother, Savanah H. Brock. During the altercation, Chase fired a weapon, striking his mother and grandmother.
A Deputy with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office performed life-saving measures prior to Wayne County EMS arriving on scene. The two women were airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital where they remain in critical condition.
Chase Jackson was lodged in the Wayne County Jail.
