Logging accident in Jabez claims life of Casey man

A Liberty man died as a result of a logging accident in the Jabez community this morning.

Russell County Coroner Mark Coots told WJRS News 25-year-old Luke Dee Wilson of Liberty was killed in the accident.

The coroner’s office said they were called out at around 9 a.m. this morning to a wooded area off Cave Springs Road in Jabez. On the scene, the coroner’s office learned Wilson was struck by a small dead tree that was dislodged while falling a bigger tree.

Wilson worked with his father and uncle in a family logging business.
