The Russell County Laker and Lady Laker Soccer teams picked up wins last night.
The Lakers hosted Warren East last night, coming away with a 4-0 win. Andre Perez had a big night, scoring three goals while Sebastian Betts-Jimenez added another.
Will Pratt, Taven Foley, and Carlos Lopez each had an assist and Xavion Russell had seven saves in the shutout victory.
The JV team won by a score of 2-0, with Jose Lopez and Luis Lopez each scoring a goal.
The Lady Lakers went on the road for a district matchup with Clinton County, where the Lady Lakers came out on top by a score of 7-0.
Addison Coffey scored 5 goals for Russell County, while Adriana Thomas and Marissa Hatchett each added a goal.
Thomas, Madison Weisbrodt, Madison Bennett, and Carly Shearer each finished with an assist and Liz Evans had 3 saves in the shutout win.
In the JV game, the teams played to a 3-3 tie. Jayde Lawless had a pair of goals and Jorja Branham added another. Jasmine Rowe had six saves.
The Lakers will go on the road to Taylor County tomorrow, while the Lady Lakers will host Lincoln County.
