The Jamestown City Council approved the city’s medical cannabis ordinance at its most recent meeting.
Near the end of last week’s council meeting, council member Dwight Richards brought up the topic and said he felt like the council should go ahead and hold a second reading and vote on the topic. A first reading was held in July, and the council heard a presentation from a prospective business last month hoping to receive a license to locate in the area.
The council voted unanimously to approve the ordinance, which permits medical cannabis operations within the city.
Jamestown joins Russell Springs as cities permitting medical cannabis operations. Medical cannabis operations are not permitted in the county.
