The Russell County Extension Office, in partnership with the Progressive Ag Foundation, will host its annual Farm Safety Day today at the Russell County Fairgrounds.
This event is for every third grade student in Russell County, with several local organizations and businesses teaching about various areas of safety.
Russell County Ag Extension Agent Jonathan Oakes told WJRS News his hope each year with this event is that it teaches at least one child something that will help keep them safe.
Oakes said it’s more than just farm safety, but will include various topics. He said it’s a way to make it inclusive for every student.
