Charges are expected to be filed after a Russell County High School student reportedly made a concerning post on Snapchat.
Russell County Schools Superintendent Michael Ford sent out a letter Monday to school district employees and families, saying an investigation was launched after the board office was made aware of concerning posts on a Snapchat group chat.
Ford said there was no planned or active threat to students or staff in Russell County Schools, but said any potential threat of violence is taken seriously.
The student will not be allowed to attend school while the district works to determine what the next disciplinary steps will be, in addition to the legal charges.
