Adair County Schools say Friday morning lockdown was due to false report of student with weapon

Adair County Schools were placed on lockdown Friday morning.

According to Adair County Schools Superintendent Jason Faulkner, the lockdown stemmed from a report from a student at the high school saying another student had a weapon at the school.

An investigation revealed that was a false statement.

The school went into a hard lockdown as officers investigated the claim and spoke to the students involved, later determining there was no threat.

Adair County Schools later moved into a soft lockdown as a precautionary measure.
