An investigation is underway into a reported drowning that occurred near the South Fork area of the Cumberland River on Lake Cumberland near Garland Bend.
The drowning occurred yesterday evening sometime around 6 p.m. Central Time. Reports are that the victim fell off a boat and did not resurface.
The US Army Corps of Engineers placed idle speed zone markers in the area of Woodson Bend Dock in Pulaski County yesterday as crews began to work the scene.
Rescue crews worked for several hours yesterday, but the search was called off at around 10 last night. Search crews plan to resume rescue efforts today.
No details were available about the victim.
