Officer Involved Shooting in Taylor County Still Under Investigation

An officer involved shooting in nearby Taylor County on Tuesday apparently remains under investigation and details have yet to be released by the Kentucky State Police.

The Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) of State Police was requested by the Campbellsville Police Department and Taylor County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the shooting which occurred around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon in Taylor County.

Troopers and Detectives from the Columbia post responded to the scene on Pitman Avenue in Campbellsville.  KSP initiated an investigation into the incident and it remains ongoing.

State Police say standard operating procedure is to not release specific details until witnesses have been interviewed and facts gathered and that timelines to complete investigations vary based on the complexity of the case.
