16th District Baseball and Softball tournaments set

The schedule for the 16th District Baseball and Softball tournaments has been set.

The Laker Baseball and Lady Laker Softball teams will both play on Monday in tournament action.

The 1-seed Lakers will play at 5:30 Monday against the winner of 4-seed Cumberland County and 5-seed Metcalfe County. The Panthers and Hornets will face off on Sunday.

On the softball side, the 3-seed Lady Lakers will face off against the 2-seed Cumberland County at 7:30 Monday evening.

District championships will be held on Tuesday with the softball championship scheduled for 5:30 and the baseball championship scheduled for 6:30.

The tournament is hosted by Cumberland County this year with games played at Veterans Park.
