Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department releases year-to-date report

The Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department released its year-to-date report recently.

During the current fiscal year, which began July 1, the fire department has responded to 13 structure fires, 6 grass fires, 1 wood fire, and 4 vehicle fires.

Since July 1, the fire department has responded to 8 accidents with injuries and 40 non-injury accidents.

During that time, the fire department has assisted with 30 roadway cleanups, 10 traffic control calls, 84 total helicopter landing zones, and 32 EMS assist calls.

The department has responded to 32 service calls, performed 12 fire inspections, and 26 special details.

In total, the fire department has had almost 300 runs this fiscal year.
