The Russell County Middle School Laker Baseball and Lady Laker Softball teams picked up victories last night.
The Laker Baseball team defeated Metcalfe County as Brody Terry led the Lakers with a pair of hits, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored.
Will Coffey and Keaton Garner each drove in a pair of runs for the Lakers as well.
Holden Hadley picked up the win pitching.
The B team also won over Metcalfe by a score of 6-0.
Archer Hart and Tahlon Luttrell each drove in a run for Russell County, and Josiah Dudgeon picked up the win on the mound, pitching three innings without giving up a hit or run and striking out 4.
On the softball side, the Lady Lakers defeated Green County on the road by a score of 7-2.
Kaelyn Campbell finished with 4 hits and an RBI in the game.
Kinsley Wilson drove in a pair of runs for the Lady Lakers.
Lilian Davis picked up the win pitching, giving up just one run on 8 hits and striking out 7.
