RCH celebrates inaugural DAISY Award winners

Russell County Hospital held a special ceremony Friday morning, honoring the hospital’s first DAISY Award for Nursing recipients.

The nurses receiving this honor were Lila McGowan and Terri Coffey.

The DAISY Award is a recognition program to celebrate and recognize nurses by collecting nominations from patients, families, and co-workers.

In their nominations, McGowan and Coffey were recognized for their compassionate care, willingness to go above and beyond to care for patients, and positive attitude.

Nurses receiving the DAISY Award receive professional development, education, and wellness benefits, along with a certificate, a pin, and a spotlight on the DAISY Foundation website.
