A petition is circulating to add a traffic light at the intersection of U.S. 127 and KY 70 in Casey County.
The intersection has been a topic of controversy recently, on the heels of a wreck that occurred at the intersection on Easter Sunday resulting in the death of three individuals.
According to a report in the Casey County News, there have been four fatal accidents at the intersection over the last 14 years, with multiple other non-fatal collisions occurring at the intersection as well.
The online petition is nearing 2,000 signatures.
The issue of safety at the intersection is reportedly being looked at by state transportation officials.
