The Russell County Sheriff’s Office has a new deputy.
Sheriff Derek Polston announced the addition of William Greer to the sheriff’s office earlier this week.
Greer’s prior law enforcement experience includes serving 20 years with the Somerset Police Department.
Greer also has experience as an accident reconstruction officer, which Polston said would be a great benefit to the sheriff’s office.
