The Russell County High School Laker and Lady Laker Basketball teams dropped close contests in a road doubleheader at Barren County last night.
In the first game, the Lady Lakers went toe-to-toe with the Trojanettes, falling by a score of 43-38.
The Lady Lakers finish the regular season with a record of 17-10, which is the highest number of regular season wins since the 2019-2020 season for the Lady Lakers.
In the nightcap, the Lakers dropped a close one to the Trojans by a score of 62-56.
The Lakers wrap up the regular season with a record of 12-15, the most wins in a season for the Lakers since the 2020-2021 season.
Now, the Lakers and Lady Lakers prepare for the 16th District Tournament, which officially gets underway this Sunday at Russell County High School.
The Lady Lakers will take on Monroe County on Monday, and the Lakers will take on the winner of Monroe County and Metcalfe County on Tuesday.
