A nationwide AT&T cell service outage affected Russell and surrounding counties yesterday morning.
The outage began in the area sometime around 4 a.m. and lasted a few hours before service began to be restored for some people.
The vast majority of the area had service restored before noon.
The cause of the outage remains unknown.
