As the Russell County Laker Football team prepares to open up next season at its new stadium, they’ll be doing so with a new head coach.
WJRS News learned yesterday that coach Lucas Ford met with the team and submitted a letter of resignation as Russell County High School’s Football coach.
Ford has served as the head coach of the Laker Football program for the last two seasons.
The job is expected to be posted in the coming days and a committee will begin the search for the program’s next head coach with spring practice beginning in the next few weeks.
