Lady Lakers win big, Lakers fall to Adair

The Russell County Lakers and Lady Lakers hosted Adair County for a doubleheader Friday night.

The Lady Lakers came out strong from the start, leading by 21 points at halftime en route to a 66-29 victory over the Lady Indians.

Three Lady Lakers finished in double-figures scoring with Aysha Sutton and Addy Abrell each scoring 14 points and Aniyah Coffey finished with 11.

The Lady Lakers improved to 17-8 on the season with the win.

In the nightcap, the Lakers battled with the Indians, falling short by a score of 77-67.

Owen Loy led Russell County with 18 points on the night, followed by Noah McMillin with 17, Braydon Cerrato with 11 and Trace Stringer with 10.

The loss drops the Lakers to 12-13 on the season.

The Lady Lakers are back in action tonight, hosting Whitley County with a 7 p.m. tipoff.

The Lakers are back in action tomorrow, hosting Pulaski County. That game gets underway at 7:30.
