Jamestown receives clean audit, Mayor responds to comments made about water rate increase

The Jamestown City Council met last night.

The city received a positive report on its latest audit, as the auditor said there were no findings giving the city a clean audit.

Mayor Regena Hinton said she was glad the city received a clean audit and also pointed to the auditor noting that the recent increase on water and sewer rates had helped the city stave off a major financial loss to the tune of nearly half-a-million dollars.

Hinton also provided a statement responding to comments made last week about those recent water and sewer increases.

As reported right here on WJRS News, the City of Jamestown approved those across-the-board rate increases in August of last year after months of discussion.
