The Russell County Board of Education met in special session yesterday afternoon.
The board approved a contract for interim middle school principal Keith Ellis at the meeting.
While Ellis serves in the interim, Superintendent Michael Ford said he expects principal hirings at both the middle school and Jamestown Elementary to occur in the coming months, well ahead of the start of next school year.
Rene Gossage and Keith Ellis are expected to serve out the school year as interim principals at Jamestown Elementary and Russell County Middle School.
