Anchor of Hope Food Pantry helping many local students, families

The Anchor of Hope Food Pantry on the Russell County Middle School and High School campus has served several families and students since opening this fall.

According to the Russell County School District, the pantry served around 120 households from October through January. That includes more than 270 school aged-children and more than 50 children under the age of 5 during that time period.

The food pantry is a partnership between Feeding America Kentucky Heartland and the Russell County School District and provides both perishable and non-perishable food items at no cost to students and their families.
