A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect for Russell and surrounding counties on Thursday, January 18th at 11:00 a.m. central time.
A wintry mix of snow, freezing rain, and plain rain is expected to develop across the region Thursday afternoon. Areas of freezing drizzle are expected Thursday evening followed by a period of light snow late Thursday night and into Friday morning. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 1.5 inches will be possible along with less than a tenth of an inch of ice.
Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday afternoon commute and will likely result in negative travel impacts Thursday night and Friday morning.
