Sewer Problems Continue at Ag Expo Center in Liberty, No Solution in Sight

Sewer problems at the popular Ag Expo center in neighboring Liberty continue, and Liberty city officials say no quick fix is coming.

According to a recent story in the Casey County News, city officials are being asked what can be done about sewage backing up onto the property, which is located just off highway 127, just south of the city.   At a recent meeting of the Liberty city council, city officials told Ag Expo director Jennifer Collins that the problem was a design issue, and with many new additional sewer customers in recent years, including Tarter Industries in Dunnville, the result was simply an overloaded system.

City officials said they would ask Kentucky Rural Water personnel to look at the problem, but in reality, the city might need a new sewer main from the Tarter plant in Dunnville to the city’s sewer plant, a distance of about 10 miles.

The Ag Expo is a very popular venue in the region, having served as host for many national and state agricultural related events
